From Saint Vincent de Paul Conference here at Saint James.

A couple of months ago, we visited a young man who was living in a local motel. He had been homeless for some time, but after starting full-time work, he could finally pay for a roof over his head. Unfortunately, his job only paid enough to pay for essentials, including the motel stay. He was not able to save enough for an apartment.

We helped him by paying for a couple of weeks' stay at the motel so that he could save up some money. We also connected him with the right government agencies to get him permanent housing. A month later, he is now living in his own apartment with steady work. The gap between homelessness and stability can be      minimal, and the couple of hundred dollars in this case changed his life forever.

God Bless,
